Ski season has ended which means it’s time for spring to arrive and other kinds of outdoor activities to start! Are you ready to read and go explore these events I am going to highlight in my April Community Insider Crested Butte? The real estate market in Crested Butte is still hot. If you are looking to buy or sell now is still the time! COVID numbers are dropping but I am still taking precautions with regards to all my clients and listings, and many businesses are still being careful as well. We are all wishing for normal times this spring or summer, but we will have to wait and see. Thankfully there are lots of awesome things to do outside in Crested Butte and I know I will be taking advantage of that.
Arts Center In Crested Butte
Crested Butte Arts Center is hosting the cult classic film series on Sunday, April 11th – they will be showing Wayne’s World. Tickets are reserved by donation of at least ten dollars per ticket. A portion of all proceeds will help support Save the Majestic Theatre. They are asking that you register and sign up before the event. Be sure to arrive thirty minutes early and then enjoy movie-themed drinks, distanced socializing, and even some fresh popcorn. They are asking guests to wear masks to attend this event. Forging The West
Forging the West film fest to help benefit the Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum. April 10th from 6 pm till 8 pm join them for a special screening of Forging the West. A film exploring the role of the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company in Colorado. You will learn about the story of the steel mill that fueled the development of the American West. This film was the recipient of a 2017 Telly Award for excellence in historical documentary filmmaking. Click here for more information.
Community Clean Up
Have you been getting a jump start on spring cleaning? So is the Crested Butte community! Come and be a part of the clean-up day. Crested Butte Community clean-up day is scheduled for Saturday, April 24th from 9 am till 12 pm to meet at the Jorgensen Park – Hockey Rink. Come and help the community pick up our town!
With such great success for their 1st annual Crested Butte Devo Bike Swap in 2019, they are so excited to bring it back for 2021! All proceeds from this event will benefit the Crested Butte Devo High School Race Team. This team is solely dedicated to providing a fun and safe environment for young riders to help develop the skills they need for riding. They are asking for bike and bike gear to be in good working condition for it to be accepted. Donations are welcomed as well! Drop off dates and locations are Gunnison – Thursday, April 29 from 2-6 pm at the Jorgensen Ice Arena Parking Lot. Crested Butte – Friday, April 30 from 1 – 6 pm at the Big Mine Ice Rink.
