Crested Butte Chamber Winter Events
I recently got the opportunity to talk with Ashley UpChurch – Executive Director of the Crested Butte – Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Center about Crested Butte Chamber Winter Events.
Ashley has been in the Crested Butte area for about 6 years, and has been head of the Chamber for 3 years. Ashley loves her leadership role to help promote Crested Butte, coordinate great events, and support the many great local Crested Butte businesses.

About the Chamber – Crested Butte / Mt. Crested Butte
The Mission of the Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce is to encourage economic prosperity by promoting and protecting the business interests of the community.
The Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce started as a business association to promote the Crested Butte area nearly 30 years ago. For the first several years, membership in the Chamber was tied to the Business Occupancy License Tax (BOLT). BOLT revenues assisted the Chamber in marketing the area, running Crested Butte Reservations, and overseeing operation of the Visitors Center.
In 2003, following the creation of the Gunnison-Crested Butte Tourism Association, an organization tasked with marketing the area, the Chamber elected to move to voluntary membership, and moved towards more of a business service focused chamber. However, the Chamber still manages operations for three Visitor Centers in the north end of the Gunnison Valley. We also host many popular events like Crested Butte Bike Week, the Chili & Beer Festival, CRAFTED, and more.
We aim to be the voice of businesses in the community, advocating for the needs of businesses, large and small.
