Crested Butte Farmers Market

Did you know that Crested Butte has a farmers market? The Crested Butte Farmers Market has been around for more than a decade now, starting in 2007. The goal was to give local farmers and artisanal food producers a chance to sell their products.

All vendors, with a few exceptions, come from a 100 mile radius to Crested Butte. So you can rest assured that you’re supporting local producers by buying local products!

When is it?

Every Sunday in the summer starting May 26th through to October 6th from 9am to 2pm!

And the exciting news this year is that they’re adding a weekday Farmers Market too. The first one will be July 11th and for 9 consecutive Thursday until August 29th. There will a chance for you to shop fresh produce and local products from 4 to 7pm.

Where is it?

On Sunday the Farmers Market is on the 100 Block of Elk Avenue, right in the middle of historic downtown Crested Butte.

The new Thursday evening Farmers Market will be at Cranks Plaza, by the Crested Butte town hall and library.

What vendors are there?

This season is going to have 37 full time vendors! There will be a variety of producers selling everything from farm/ranch products, beverages and concessions, arts and crafts, clothing and jewelry, and health, beauty and body care products. There’s something for everyone!

The CBFM also provides two booths for non-profits and community organizations every Sunday for free so that they can raise awareness, fundraise, sell tickets and find new members!

Other Community and Outreach Projects

The CBFM is very happy to sponsor several Mountain Roots Food Project programs, which include community gardens, kids’ summer program and food security program. They also support local organizations like the Food Pantry and CBFM accepts SNAP as of last year!

A scholarship program for people interested in pursuing higher education in fields related to the CBFM and their mission is being planned for the near future.
