Crested Butte named Finalist in America’s Painted Prettiest Places National Contest

Crested Butte Prettiest PlaceThe Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce Reports that Crested Butte has been named a Finalist in America’s Painted Prettiest Places National Contest. It is no wonder with the open space, the beautiful scenery of the surrounding mountains, and the picturesque quaint Historical town of Crested Butte.  I am still in awe of the vistas we enjoy in this valley, and it is what differentiates Crested Butte from so many other places.  Most second homeowners came first for the skiing in the winter, and were equally excited when they came back in the summer to see and enjoy the beauty of our paradise at the end of the road. As reported by the Chamber:  Judges have completed their review of the nearly 200 entries submitted in the search to find the “Prettiest Painted Places in America” and have named the 60 finalists who will compete this month for national honors. A complete list of finalists is shown below. Two communities will be selected from each of the six regions as the 12 Prettiest Painted Places in America. All of the nearly 200 nominees are exceptional towns and communities that are beautifully painted, many in very creative ways ranging from exquisite mural displays to painted streets, sidewalks, and even water towers. From our perspective, every nominated community should be proud that it is among the most beautifully painted places to be found anywhere! Finalists in the Southwest Region: Crested Butte, Colorado Lake City, Colorado Manhattan Beach, California Midway, Utah Ouray, Colorado Historic Park City, Utah Petaluma, California Prescott, Arizona Redlands, California Tubac, Arizona
