If you have some jewelry lying around that you don’t know what to do with and live in Crested Butte, you’ll enjoy this news! The Up-Cycled Resin Jewelry Workshop is being offered at the Gunnison Arts Center on Sunday, November 17th. Adults and young adults who are 14 years old and up and live in Crested Butte and surrounding areas are invited from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Bring your old jewelry parts and leave with two new unique jewelry pieces!
Participants will take apart the old jewelry and use those pieces in addition to new shapes and colorful backgrounds to create one pendant and one belt buckle. The finished jewelry will be preserved in doming resin. A $40.00 fee covers all supplies and no experience is necessary.
Before coming to the class, be sure to look around your home for old jewelry and other pieces such as old watches, chains, jewels, rings, pieces of fabric, fingernail polish, colorful and interesting paper, old camera parts, or anything else you find in your Crested Butte home that could look interesting on a new piece of jewelry. Take advantage of the Gunnison Arts Center, a wonderful asset to those who live in Crested Butte, and register early to be a part of this fun class with Deirdre Jones. Read more about it here.
