On Labor Day Weekend, the Paragon Art Gallery of Crested Butte will be hosting its Annual People’s Fair, Arts and Crafts! If you haven’t been to Crested Butte to experience the People’s Fair, then you haven’t seen this awesome town at its finest! For the past 23 years the artists of the Paragon Gallery have hosted the this annual event with an eclectic mix of 60 to 70 booths selling unique regional arts and crafts, collectibles and antiques, preserved food from local gardens, music, and more in a fun, family oriented environment. Reasonably priced items make this fair affordable for everyone and a must for treasure hunters!
Always a big attraction at the fair is the vast selection of music CDs on sale from $1 to raise money for public radio station, KBUT. Crested Butte Friends of the Library will also hold their annual book sale with over 200 square feet of winter reading material!
In addition, thanks to the efforts of The High Country Citizen’s Alliance staff and volunteers, you will have to attend the fair to find the best bake sale in the county! Other non-profits will also be on hand providing information on a variety of topics, as well as raising money for their particular causes.
Each year, hundreds of locals and visitors stroll Crested Butte’s Elk Avenue to take in the homespun cultural experience of The People’s Fair and to soak in the last of the high country summer for the year. Food booths will be located next to the Company Store, across from the music venue at the corner of Elk Avenue and Third Street. Live music will begin at noon.
Vendors interested in displaying their wares should call the Paragon Art Gallery at 970-349-6484, or download a 2013 Peoples Fair Vendor Application. Both can be reserved until Monday August 22. Gunnison Valley Non Profit organizations can receive one booth for free, call for more information.
