12th Annual Crested Butte Gathering in Dallas – TETWP:  every year during the middle of November I am super excited to host an event in Dallas for Crested Butte second homeowners and enthusiasts, I bring in informative speakers.

Due to Covid unfortunately we could not host the event, and this year it was great to get back together! 

TETWP – Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough To Wear Pink is a great organization – and super excited to have Heidi Sherratt Bogart – Executive Director, and Mike Dawson – President as speakers!   Also present was Jeri DeFeo – Board Member!

Hotel & Spa speak. WoodHouse a leading creative hospitality company based in Dallas acquired the Elevation Hotel & Spa at the base area in Mt. Crested Butte.

Plans for the property’s reimagining are still in early development and will be shared at a later date.  You will love the new restaurant José at Elevation – featuring a special menu of chef-crafted, Guadalajara-inspired favorites straight from the award-winning Dallas-based restaurant concept.

It is a fun get together, and I really enjoy the opportunity to visit with so many great friends and clients in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area.  Feedback from the 12th Annual Crested Butte Gathering in Dallas – TETWP event was awesome…

Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough to Wear Pink

All TETWP Fundraising Stays in Gunnison Valley

It is amazing what this organization has been able to accomplish.  The best equipment, services and support in an effort to create a one-stop-shop.

The Best Equipment – Over $1,400,000 has been used since 2006 to purchase equipment (Breast MRI Coil, 3D Tomosynthesis, ultrasound, digital mammography, stereotactic biopsy, PINK robes and warmers) to expand breast cancer services at Gunnison Valley Hospital as part of a comprehensive strategic plan with Gunnison Valley Hospital to make this the best small town breast cancer facility in the US.

• Total fundraising to date since 2005 is $5,154,600.
• 2020 $147,000 purchase of Breast MRI Coil.
• 2019 $160,000 purchase of a Breast Stereotactic Biopsy Device.
• 2017 $370,000.00 purchase of a Hologic 3D Tomosynthesis Mammography Machine.
• $120,000 funded in mammograms, ultrasounds, and biopsies since 2013 for uninsured or underinsured Gunnison Valley residents. In 2020 alone, TETWP has funded more than $25,000 to cover the cost of life-saving breast cancer screenings for those who do not have health insurance coverage.
• Tough Enough To Wear Pink covers 30% of the salary for the Oncology Nurse Navigator hired to help all cancer patients in the Gunnison Valley to navigate the complexities of treatments, medications, insurance, transportation, and provide support and assistance throughout all stages of the cancer continuum.
• “Tuffy” the Transportation Ram Truck purchased in 2016, and “Bucky” the Dodge Durango purchased in 2018 help all cancer patients get to their out of town medical appointments safely and comfortably.  They have traveled over 130,000 miles across the state. TETWP welcomed a third vehicle, Betty Ann, donated in 2020!
• $190,000 granted since 2015 through the Friends of Pink program to help individuals in the Gunnison Valley who were impacted financially due to a breast cancer diagnosis (lost wages, travel expenses for treatment, etc.).
• $10,000 in funding the honorary Edie Gibson “Make It A Great Day” program which helps Gunnison Valley residents who are diagnosed with cancer by providing coupons for them and their caregivers to utilize the therapy services of Integrative Therapies.
• $10,000 to fund Mammo Mondays.  A nice treat providing patients with a relaxing massage or reiki after having their annual mammogram at GVH.
• $34,000 since 2019 through Lucy’s House providing lodging assistance to individuals with any type of cancer.
• $2,000 to Casting for Recovery to send two Gunnison County Ladies to the 2018 Fly Fishing Retreat for breast cancer survivors in Redstone, CO.

You may have attended the TETWP Songwriter event in Mountaineer Square ever year in July prior to the Cattlemen’s Days Rodeo – due to Covid the past two years the venue has changed… and now this event is held over a few nights at various ranches and homes – this is an awesome event and not to be missed!  More info to follow as the announcements are made for dates, times and locations – see below for

JULY 4TH PINKAPALOOZA CONCERT

Headliner Band, Local Singer-Songwriters, and Surprise Guests

Francene and I got the opportunity to attend this event the last two years – and it was awesome.  It is at the I-Bar Ranch – great food, great music, fun gathering of people – and a great venue to watch the Gunnison fireworks!

People often ask me “What makes Crested Butte special?”

It is hard to put into words, but certainly the people who make up our community are special.  And I am thankful for people like Heidi Sherratt Bogart, and Mike Dawson and organizations like Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough To Wear Pink that have such a great history in our valley – and are doing important work to help us all. I am also proud to be able to host the 12th Annual Crested Butte Gathering in Dallas – TETWP event, and can’t wait to support them, and attend their upcoming events.
