The Fall leaves are slowly leaving and the mountain caps are filling with snow. We had out first snow in town last week and the air is started to turn to crisp and cozy weather. The town is still buzzing with events, so here’s breakdown of the upcoming foodie events, halloween festivities, and live music, happening here in Crested Butte for October!

  • October 20 Tatornator Monday

    Time: 11am – 9pm

    Location: 5B’s BBQ, Gunnison

    More Details: $2 off 5 B’s Baked Potato piled high with butter, cheese, onions, jalapenos, pulled pork, coleslaw, BBQ sauce, and topped with sour cream.

 

 

  • October 21 Bonez Taco Tuesday

    Time: 11:30am – 9pm

    Location: BONEZ, Elk Avenue

  • October 21 Rib Day at 5B’s BBQ

    Time: 11am – 9pm

    Location: 5B’s BBQ, Gunnison

    More Details: $2 per rib. Delish 5B’s ribs, the meat just falls off the bones. You can order up to 24 at the $2 price.

    Location: Our distillery is located just 10 minutes outside of Crested Butte in the Riverland Industrial Park at 398 Riverland Drive.

    More Details: Visit our newly expanded distillery in Crested Butte, Colorado where we offer facility tours and guided tastings of our rums. We offer two different tours (our regular tour/tasting, and our connoisseur tour for those desiring a more in depth experience) where you will get a close look at fermentation vessels, wash tank, and our custom copper pot still.

  • October 24 CB Museum Book of the Month Club: Crested Butte . . . Love at First Sight

    Time: 6pm – 7pm

    Location: Crested Butte Museum

    More Details: Join us for a monthly book club where we will explore and discuss both non-fiction and fiction works that explore the history of our valley and the lifestyles of those who lived lives similar to those who established the town of Crested Butte. Crested Butte . . . Love at First Sight is a sequel to Sandra’s first book Crested Butte Stories . . . Through My Lens. She blends her experiences of more than 40 years as a photojournalist with true tales of Crested Butte, its foibles, goofiness, tragedies, and resilience. Her rich vignettes chronicle a few of the natives, second and third generation Europeans and Slavs, who remained in their homes after the coal mines closed in 1952, and many who arrived later, drawn by the beauty of the mountains, but captured by the love of the people and tightly knit community.

 

 

  • October 25 Girl Winter Film Tour

    Time: 7:30pm – 9:30pm

    Location: Center for the Arts Crested Butte

    More Details: Join us for a night of women-centric short ski films! GIRL WINTER is a collection of femme-forward and gender-nonconforming films. The tour aims to shift the narrative of ski & snowboard films seen on the big screen each fall and include new voices in the stories we consume. This event will showcase 6 films accompanied by a Q&A and poster signing with the athletes and filmmakers who brought the films to life. All are welcome to attend!

 

  • October 28 Jack’s Spooky Karaoke Night

    Time: 8pm – 11pm

    Location: Majestic Theatre Crested Butte

    More Details: Get ready to belt it out, or sit back and enjoy the best bad singers of the Butte – spooky style! Karaoke nights are always FREE, but we ask that you consider buying concessions or a drink to support fun events like this at the Majestic.

     

  • October 30 & 31 Gunnison Haunted House

    Time: 4pm – 10:30pm

    Location: Masonic Lodge, E Virginia Ave, Gunnison, CO 81230, USA

    More Details: Come one, come all, for a spooky fright to remember! Western’s Haunted House is back and it is better than ever. Hosted in the Masonic Lodge, this experience on the 30th and 31st will haunt your dreams. Offering a kid friendly experience from 4-6 with no scare actors and minimal scare design, this event is sure to be fun for the whole family. From 7-10, the real scares come out to play, and you better be prepared to keep them entertained.

 

  • October 31 Un-Dead Ball

    Time: 9pm – 12am

    Location: Gunnison Arts Center

    More Details: Join us if you dare for the Gunnison Arts Center’s Un-Dead Ball — a frightfully fun Halloween night where the dance floor comes alive! This ghoulish gathering will feature a spooktacular local DJ spinning eerie beats, a full bar serving up creepy craft cocktails, and the crowning of our very own Un-Dead Royalty. Come in your best Un-Dead costumes, but any and all costumes are welcome! Wander into our haunted courtyard-turned-graveyard, where you’ll find classic Halloween games like apple bobbing and other bone-chilling surprises. Throw on your best costume and dance the night away — it’s your last chance for a scream-worthy celebration!

 

  • October 31 KBUT Halloween Fright Parade

    Time: 3:45pm – 7pm

    Location: The Trailhead Children’s Museum

    More Details: KBUT, The CB Old Rock Library, and The Trailhead Children’s Museum bring you the “Halloween Fright Parade” on Friday, October 31st. Join us at 3:45pm at First and Elk for a pre-parade KBUT block party with music and the “Thriller” dance taught by Barron Farnell and a Poem by SherBear. Starting at 4:17pm (right after the bus turns off of Elk) the parade will start trick or treating down Elk Avenue and finish at the Old Rock Library and the Trailhead Children’s Museum for Fun activities, sweet treats and Haunted Houses. ALL BUSINESSES AND HOMES ON ELK AVENUE ARE INVITED TO HAND OUT TREATS!
